ORIGIN
Normani Kordei Hamilton is an American singer, songwriter, and one-fourth of the girl group Fifth Harmony. She’s an Ambassador for The Cybersmile Foundation and the American Cancer Society. Normani was born on May 31, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia. Her parents are Derrick and Andrea Hamilton. She has two sisters, Ashlee and Arielle. Normani grew up in the city of New Orleans. The family relocated to Houston, Texas, in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina.

CAREER
Normani’s musical influences include Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys. In 2012 she auditioned with Aretha Franklin‘s single “Chain of Fools” on season two of The X Factor. The performance resulted in four yeses from the judges. Normani was eliminated during boot camp but she was given a second chance to perform as a group. The other members were Camila Cabello, Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui and Dinah Jane. They finished in third place.

Fifth Harmony’s debut EP, Better Together, was released on October 18, 2013, by Syco Music and Epic Records. It featured five tracks including the single “Miss Movin’ On”. The group has since released two studio albums, Reflection (2015) and 7/27 (2016). Both albums were certified Gold by the RIAA. The single “Work from Home” became their first top-10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

Normani is a contestant on season 24 of Dancing with the Stars. She is partnered with professional dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy.
